CENTENARY DINNER
The highlight of our celebrations took place at the Millennium Stadium on Friday June 8th where over 200 guests enjoyed an evening of good food, good fun and happy memories. The guests included past and present players from both our men’s and ladies teams, their families, our sponsors, a number of old foes and others interested in our celebration.
The evening proved to be a wonderful success and the guests didn't want the night to end even though it went on till one o'clock! The speeches included a passion filled address from the Baseball Chairman, Mark Jones, on the history of Grange Albion, it's special place at the heart of the game in Wales and a reminder of a few of our special players.
Mark was followed by a witty but insightful speech from former player and duel Welsh rugby and baseball international, Mark Ring. Ringo explained how much he enjoyed his seasons with the Albion's and commented on how proud he was to have played for one of the most famous sides in the game.
The final speaker was comedian, Bryn Phillips. Bryn had the guests in stitches for nearly an hour with his dry sense of humour enjoyed by all ages within the audience. Bryn's performance was superb and was a fitting end to the formal speeches leaving everyone trying to remember the jokes he had told.
The night ended at one although the stewards had a job on their hands to clear the room with many groups and conversations not wanting to end. The feedback from all who attended has been tremendous and the Committee were pleased that it had done the Albion's proud. Here's to the next 100 years!!
Take a look at some photo's from the night below .......
